Are you an artist? Do you want your art to be viewed by thousands of people? Win great prizes? Would you love your art on the cover of the Forest City Comicon Event Guide?

The Forest City Comicon is once again hosting a contest for local and regional artists to put their art on the front page!  Among other bonuses, the winning artist will receive a complimentary table at the event.  Finalists also receive great prizes too!

-Open to any local / regional artists, all ages.

– A.I. submissions are not permitted.

-Artists are encouraged to take photos of their work in progress.  These photos may be used in your artist profile, in the event your work is selected as a finalist.

-Artists may use the medium of their choice and email a copy of their final artwork to [email protected] – – a confirmation e-mail will be sent confirming receipt. (If you do not receive the confirmation e-mail back within 24 hours, e-mail again without the file to confirm if it was received).

-Specifications indicated at right. Artist shall leave the space for logos & text to be added.

–Theme Suggestions: Artist are encouraged to include the colours Blue & Green (as seen in the Forest City Comicon logo) and also include a recognizable London, Ontario icon or landmark. Artists are encouraged to make creative character use of stylized Forest City Comicon “Super Hero” emblem (shown at left).

-Final artwork must be submitted no later than May 11, 2024. All contestants acknowledge that submitted artwork becomes the property of Forest City Comicon for the purposes of use in event promotions: digital, print, and billboard. (It will not, however, be used in the creation of for-sale merchandise unless a separate mutual agreement is reached with the artist).

-All artwork will be screened by the art committee who will select the top contenders. The top contenders will be put to an online vote to determine the winning artwork.

-ALL top contenders will each receive two complimentary passes to the show.

-The WINNING artwork will be featured on the cover of the program guide, along with the artist bio inside the guide. Winning artist shall receive a full artist table at the event with an exhibitor pass along with two general admission passes to the show.

Forest City ComiCon returns to Centennial Hall for its eighth-annual show!  Here’s everything you need to know as you head to the event Saturday:

Forest City ComiCon is set to return next weekend on Saturday, June 24 at Centennial Hall.  The eighth-annual event features cosplay, a full exhibitor floor, panels & presentations, and special appearances by celebrity guests.

The featured guest this year is Stefan Kapicic who is best known to fans for his role as the iconic X-Men character “Colossus” in the record-breaking and Golden Globe nominated Marvel/Fox feature films Deadpool and Deadpool 2 and recently announced to be appearing in Deadpool 3.  Fans will also catch him in the upcoming horror / fantasy film “The Last Voyage of the Demeter”.

Additional celebrity guests include Ivan Sherry who is best known for voicing the rebooted Inspector Gadget, Dracula in Season 2 of Hotel Transylvania – The Series, and Old Bennett in the new series Saving Me, as well as roles in many other cartoons, and Kelsey Flower known for his role as Lance in the Netflix Zombie series “Black Summer”.

Mike Del Mundo is the featured comic artist.  Del Mundo is best known for his work on Star Wars, X-Men, Thor, Deadpool, Avengers, and Spider Man.

An additional highlight at the event includes the return of the 404s Improv Comedy, with two showings at the event as well as the all-new Idol Showcase.  There will also be Nintendo Switch Super Smash & Mario Kart Tournaments presented by Game on Entertainment Services.

The Cosplay Contest is an annual highlight where participants show off their amazing costume creations.  It hits the main stage at 4:30 pm.

Tickets for the event are available online at www.ForestCityComiCon.ca, at LA Mood Comics and Games, or at the door the day of the event.  Doors at the event open at 10:00 am for advanced tickets, 10:15 am for new ticket purchases.

About: The Forest City Comicon is London, Ontario, Canada’s all-ages comic con celebration of nerd and geek culture: featuring artists, exhibitors, cosplay, vendors, panels, board games, video game tournaments, and more.  The event has run annually since 2014.

Three tournaments will be part of Forest City ComiCon 2023: Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and Beat Saber.  The tournaments are organized by Game on Entertainment Services and take place at the back of the lower-level show floor.  The tournaments take place throughout the day with registration starting at 10am with the opening of the show.

The top contenders have been selected:  These artists need you to VOTE NOW to see which one will claim the top prize in the 2023 Cover Contest!

The winner’s art will become the cover for this year’s printed program and become a featured artist at the event.  Fans can vote once for as many entries as they like!
